When I first moved into this house, six months ago, I purchased three Lack coffee tables from Ikea. I’m pretty sure you know what I’m talking about, but if you don’t, here is what they look like:
At $9.95 each, they are a bargain, but also very boring. You see them in just about every office reception or doctor’s waiting room. Sturdy, serviceable and ho hum *snore*.
I always intended to do something with them to make them more interesting, and more my style, and I recently got around to it!
Starting with an old atlas picked up in my local markets, and some Mod Podge, I cut out the maps and pasted them onto the table.
Once completely covered in the maps, a couple of coats of varnish (again, I used Mod Podge) over the top, and it was done!
This one was destined for my library, which is probably my favourite room in the house!
The other two tables I am currently covering with weathered newspaper. I will share them with you in a future post, no doubt!
Oh, my!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!
And your space is adorable.
I want!
Oh, wow, thank you so much!
Your cat though… SO cute. 🙂
Ah, Nefertiti – she is such a media tart! She tries to get in every photo, apparently she is “helping to make your blog look better!” Yeah, thanks Nefi!
