So the other two coffee tables I had from Ikea have been decoupaged now too, with newspaper.
I love the look of decorating with newsprint, and I even use it sometimes in my art, to paint on.
I sat down and pulled a couple of newspapers from my recycling basket, cut out the text only parts in black and white – side note, I’m always disappointed with how much colour is in newspapers these days. I know that sounds strange coming from the Queen of Colour, but there you have it. Perhaps it’s a nostalgic childhood thing?
Anyway, back to these tables…..
I wanted the newspaper to have that aged, yellowed look, so I mixed half a cup of coffee (just instant) in with the glue/mod podge mix.
They’ve turned out just how I hoped they would!
I really like the room in the pictures! So cool.
Thank you! This is my sitting room-I spend a lot of time in this room. I’m glad you like it!
Those look fabulous! And are your shelves always that organized?? Spectacular!
Thank you!
Ummm, actually, yeah these shelves pretty much stay this way. Strange, because I’m not the tidiest of people! The shelves in my library are messier 🙂
Very interesting and beautiful. Well in Finland we recycle empty coffee bags. My post:
How to make bags from empty coffee bags.
Thanks Sartenada. The bags are beautiful, thanks for the link!
