It is absolutely no secret that I am an unabashed Whovian.
If you have not heard of the term “Whovian”, it mean s a fan of the BBC television show Doctor Who. I grew up watching this from very early childhood, as my father was a Whovian right from the beginning. (This program has been going since 1963, the longest running Sci-Fi series ever!)
If you’re not a fan, this post will probably bore the pants off you. (You have been warned!)
I am what you might describe as a teensy bit obsessed. OK, quite obsessed. Alright, alright, totally obsessed.
Here you can see some of the ways this obsession manifests itself in my office at work:
Why yes, that IS Doctor Who Toile fabric on my bulletin board! You can purchase it and a whole lot of other amazing fabrics from Spoonflower
Here’s a funky Tardis fabric I used to make this cushion for the visitor’s chair in my office:
Convinced I’m a raving lunatic yet?
I’m absolutely loving the new series running at the moment, and can’t wait for tomorrow’s episode, it looks brilliant! Peter Capaldi is just wonderful as the 12th Doctor. Just don’t get me started on his companion. (Sorry to any Clara fans out there, I just can’t stand her character)
Although as you have probably noticed, my artworks tend to be floral, abstract or cute animals, I am enough of a Whovian to occasionally do a bit of fan art.
I have just finished the Weeping Angel artwork, something I started some months ago and then forgot all about until I tidied my studio last weekend!
Hmmm, thinking I might need to do some more Doctor Who related works……..yup, I’m heading off to the studio to get out my brushes and put on a DW DVD!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I know I will!
