As an artist I am always excited to see trends in decorating and interior design that are inspired by art. It’s all too rare!
One such trend has been fabrics with a painterly characteristic. Florals and abstracts with a definite brushstroke feel. I particularly have loved the watercolour abstract feel seen in bed linen, furniture etc.
So I had to have a play. Obviously.
Back to the inks and plain cushion cover. I chose a selection of colours, blues, greens, purple, black. Magenta…
Another blank cushion cover as a canvas, ink, brush and water mister….
It’s a little bit Rorshach, but it works.
I did notice the colour bleeds together well after you think you’re done, but I’m still happy with the result.
