Hello. My name is Alexandra, and I’m a Pinterest-aholic.
Yes, My Pinterest addiction is once more responsible for an afternoon’s creative project. This time, it was this gorgeous image:
This is the Pinterest link and it came from Scrum Dilly Dilly‘s blog – I couldn’t actually find the original post, but intend to spend some time reading her blog, because it looks pretty cool.
I love just about everything in this picture, but I particularly liked the mis-matched floral pillowcases. I am a hopeless fabric collector, I just can’t pass up a gorgeous fabric, especially a floral one, so I’m always looking for something new to do with them.
Warning- I am really crap at sewing, mostly because I’m too impatient to do it properly. I just “spong” it together as my Grandad would’ve said! At least pillowcases are really simple, and not easy to screw up!
I made some from a single fabric, but this was also a great opportunity to use up some bits of fabric that were too big for patchwork scraps, but too small to make anything much. The perfect size for two-tone pillowcases!
Merlin and Frodo don’t seem overly impressed by them, but I’m stoked- they give me that happy buzz inside 😀
Nice way to upcycle fabric scraps. The kitties are very good at posing.
At least one of the four cats will place themselves in just about every shot!
still swooning over these florals too! also, you are quite crafty! i have never been able to master the God’s Eye. Been browsing and everything is so pretty!
Thanks Jessica! Thanks for browsing my blog!
I’m so addicted to fabric, it was great to come across the photo of your bed that inspired me to actually use some of my stash.
Now that I’ve seen all your wonderful bed linen, I’m thinking I might need to get my sewing machine out and use some more 😃
