For the first time in my life, I have begun a traditional, hand-sewn patchwork project.
Over the years I have sewn scraps of fabric together with my sewing machine and called it patchwork, but I’ve never before done it properly.
As a child I watched my grandmothers create beautiful patchwork bedspreads, all by hand.
So I’ve always had the knowledge of how to do it, from cutting out shapes from thin cardboard and tacking the scraps of fabric to them, to neatly sewing them together with tiny stitches. I knew what to do, I’d just never done it!
So here I go……Embarking on another big project, that may take me weeks, months or even years to finish. Wish me luck!
Good Luck! Hopefully you won’t let us wait too long to see finished project! 🙂
Thank you!! It’s growing every day 😀
