A Flock of Blue and White

An afternoon with paint and paper is always fun, but especially so when making Christmas decorations!

I choose a theme each year- last year was rainbow, this year it’s my blue and white obsession coming through!!

Bluebirds of happiness seemed like a fitting decoration, so I started with drawing some bird shapes onto cardboard:

Then I got out some blue and white acrylic paint and painted the card.

After cutting out the shapes I punched a hole in the top of each one, and created a slit for the wings with a craft knife:

Then I dug through my stash of papers, and found some blue and white patterns I printed for a previous decoupage project and some painted papers as well.

Then it was a simple matter of folding these papers like a fan.

Then I pushed the “wings” through the slit… Voilà bluebirds of happiness!

Merry Christmas!
