Abstract Art with Stamps

A couple of years ago I wanted to decoupage a table with postage stamps. I started to collect them and even went so far as to buy some in bulk on eBay.

The table project never eventuated. I have a short attention spa……….angry jellyfish!!!!

Sorry, where was I?

Postage stamps!  So I had a bunch of them:

And I started playing around with them and sorting them into their colours (I know, I know. It’s Obsessive Colour Disorder, I can’t help it)

And I thought, hey that would make a cool artwork!

So I started glueing them onto a piece of thick white paper in a random grid sort of pattern.

Once the glue was dry it was ready to pop into a frame and hang on the wall in my bedroom!

What a great idea!! I have tons of old stamps that I should dig out and do something like this. Very inspiring! Maybe I could cover an old cigar box with them? Cheers, Michele
