This little satin lampshade that I picked up for $1 in an op shop months ago turned out to be the perfect size for one of those cute brass lamps.
But cream satin is yawnworthy and it was watermarked, so it needed a bit of a makeover.
This old paisley shopping bag was coming apart at the seams, but the pattern was too pretty to waste!
Put the two together and I had a quick little DIY project with stunning results.
Often a glue stick is the ideal lampshade to fabric adhesive, but the shininess of both these fabrics required a more heavy duty fabric glue.
Spread over the shade, it was easy to stick the fabric on.
Then the ends got a trim before being glued down inside.
Some assistance from a few pegs to hold the edges down while they dried and voila… One gorgeous paisley lampshade on one gorgeous brass lamp!
That looks fabulous! Well done, you!
Thank you so much Nancy! It was such a simple project, but all the elements fell into place and it turned out really well 😊
